Zelda's Role In Spirit Tracks Explained (ZeldaInformer)

princess zelda spirit tracks Throughout The Legend of Zelda's multiple-decade-spanning history, we've only had a chance to play as Princess Zelda in two of the three CD-i titles, something I'm sure nobody really did anyway. With the upcoming Spirit Tracks however, we can finally take control of the previously all but useless damsel-in-distress, finally allowing Link to just chill out for a minute. But why now? According to a games™ interview (via NowGamer.com) with the recent chataholic Eiji Aonuma, simply because the opportunity was there, and it seemed to be a perfect fit.

"Why would an archenemy like the Phantom become your ally, we asked ourselves. And during that discussion we came up with the idea that one way would be if a second character took control of that Phantom for you. But who? We thought Zelda might be an interesting and appropriate character. Her spirit form can take on the adventure together with Link. So that's how we decided upon the story where Zelda is going to have her body taken away by an enemy. One of the most important facets of the story would be for Link to regain her body but, at the same time, her spirit form can take on the adventure together with Link."

More Spirit Tracks Details, Tons of Spoilers (ZeldaInformer)

Mike Damiani, formerly known as TSA, got his hands on the final preview build of Spirit Tracks. He has revealed to use some new multiplayer details, as well as tons of spoiler information through the first two dungeons in the game. I have taken his rather lengthy report and ripped out all the new information and presented it in a list format, similar to what I have done in the past. So, hop inside if your ready for spoiler heaven.

Even More Spirit Tracks Artwork! (Zelda Dungeon)

Link Performing the Jump Attack in Spirit Tracks
We have TEN brand new pieces of artwork for the upcoming Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks. These ten pieces of artwork show off a couple new characters, a new boss, as well as several images of Link using some of his trusty weapons and equipment. You can view all ten images at our image gallery.

Most of this information is available on the US Spirit Tracks Website. It has a lot of information about the various weapons and characters that have been revealed as well as images of the artwork that we just recently posted. It also has a ton of small videos showcasing the different items and characters. Some of these videos are brand new and haven't been seen before.

As usual, the sections here at Zelda Dungeon will be updated soon. Spirit Tracks is set to ship in just 17 days on December 7th, 2009. Here at Zelda Dungeon we will be providing a complete Spirit Tracks Walkthrough upon release.

  • November 14th, 2009 - Community Content: Our Community content has recently been moved to its own, newly created namespace (indicated by the "Community:" prefix). This will allow the Community pages to be expanded and improved in future, while keeping them separate from normal in-game content in the Main namespace.
  • November 4th, 2009 - New Wiki Exclusive Article: Many years after the feature was first launched, we're revisiting the Wiki Exclusives with the addition of a new article! We proudly present Trinity of Truth, by our very own Brent McBride (Cipriano 119).
  • October 24th, 2009 - Capitalized File Extensions: Over the past few days, all of the files which had capitalized extensions (.PNG, .GIF, .JPG etc:) have been moved so that they all have lowercase extensions (.png, .gif, .jpg etc:). When uploading files in the future, please remember to upload them with lowercase file extensions.
  • September 30th, 2009 - Thumbnail Issues Fixed: The thumbnail issue was rooted in ImageMagick, our image processing software. Until ImageMagick fixes its issues, we've switched to GD, an alternative image processor. It works just as well (and actually works), so we'll be sticking with it until ImageMagick gets its act together.

Trinity of Truth - wiki editor Brent McBride (Cipriano 119) expresses his take on what he calls the "Trinity of Truth" (the Lens of Truth, Stone of Agony, and Mask of Truth). An informative and well-written piece, this article is an original twist on some of the more mysterious items from one of the greatest games of all time.

Majora's Mask, used by an ancient Terminan tribe in its hexing rituals.

Majora's Mask is the primary antagonist of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and must be defeated to save the land of Termina from the Moon.

The mask is first introduced after the Happy Mask Salesman removes the curse that was placed on Link by Skull Kid. The salesman explains the mask is an ancient artifact that was used by an ancient tribe, but the mask's wicked power became so great that it was sealed away to prevent a great catastrophe. He then tells of how now that Skull Kid has the mask that the great catastrophe is going to befall Termina if it is not taken back from Skull Kid.
