Cats are animals that appear in a number of Zelda games, although not nearly as often as other animals like Cuccos, with roles varying from game to game.

Minish Cap

In Minish Cap, cats will attack Link while he is in Minish form.

Twilight Princess

Cats have a slightly larger role in Twilight Princess. In the beginning of the game, in order to buy the Slingshot, Link must catch a fish for the cat of Sera, the owner of the shop in Ordon Village, who ran away after being scolded for eating a fish intended for the family's dinner. Other notable cats include Jovani's cat Gengle, who is the leader of a group of cats in Hyrule Castle Town, and Louise, Telma's cat, who assists Link while he is in wolf form at a number of points in the game.

20 cats returned to the Hidden Village after it was occupied by Bulblins, not including those in Impaz' house. The Cucco who looks after the cats, referred to as the "Cucco Leader," asks Wolf Link to entertain the cats for a Heart Piece by speaking to each one of them, but warns him that the cats are very forgetful and will need to be spoken to all over again if Link leaves the village.

The cats in Castle Town and Impaz' house can be seen playing with balls which use the same model as the "bombs" dropped by Bomskits. Cats will also pounce and attack nearby Cuccos, including, interestingly enough, the Cucco Leader.
