Congo Jungle
Congo Jungle has a main platform that indents in the center with two slanted, floating platforms in the upper right and left parts of the stage. The stage also features two rotating platforms in the stage, rotating moving in a clockwise manner and a moving Barrel Cannon at the bottom stage. When the arrow on the Cannon is lined up with the direction you want to be fired at, press the 'A' button to be shot in said direction. Dream Land is a stage in Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee. It was voted the most neutral stage out of all SSB and SSBM stages, though many also find it to be Princess Peach's and Ganondorf's best stage.
Dream Land consists of three platforms floating over the main ground. Whispy Woods, a recurring boss in the Kirby series, attempts to blow fighters off the left side of the stage.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Dream Land (under the name Past Stages: Dream Land) can be unlocked by beating the target test with every character.

Mushroom Kingdom
Mushroom Kingdom is the only unlockable stage in Super Smash Bros., being unlocked by finishing 1-P mode with all eight initially playable characters. It and Saffron City are the only stages in the game not entirely made of suspended platforms. It is based heavily upon Super Mario Bros., having Warp Pipes, POW Blocks, and Piranha Plants. There are three Warp Pipes in the stage, two on the land and one in the pit in the center of the stage. Entering one Warp Pipe would cause the player to randomly appear in one of the others. This is the only stage that has boundaries that are on the stage itself.
Peach's Castle
Peach's Castle is a major location in the Mario series that appears as a stage in Super Smash Bros. It is a very small stage, consisting of two main platforms, a board that moves through the lower platform, and two bridge-like walkways. There is also a Bumper that floats above the stage, as well as two metal obstacles that make it more difficult for a player to be knocked out of the arena. A somewhat similar stage named Princess Peach's Castle appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Planet Zebes
Planet Zebes is a location from the Metroid series that appears as a stage in Super Smash Bros. It is the main setting of Metroid and Super Metroid. The stage is filled with lava that prevents players from falling to their deaths, but also damages them. The lava occasionally rises above the lower platforms, forcing players to jump to the higher platforms. Zebes has not appeared as a stage in any other Smash Bros. game, but locations within it, such as Brinstar, Brinstar Depths, and Norfair, have appeared in the sequels.
Saffron City
Saffron City is a location in the Kanto region of the Pokémon series of Nintendo games. It appears as a stage in Super Smash Bros. It is comprised of three skyscrapers, including the Silph Co. building, and a few floating platforms. There is a door on the Silph Co. building. Occasionally a random Pokémon will burst through this door and attack.
Pokémon
These Pokémon will appear out of the door on the Silph building:
- Chansey
- Charmander
- Electrode
- Porygon
- Venusaur
Sector Z
Sector Z was a stage in the first Super Smash Bros. It was not present within Super Smash Bros. Melee, but a similar level, Corneria, was. This stage was much smaller then Corneria, and if players were on opposite sides of the stage, there would be camera trouble. Players could easily get confused by not knowing where they are because the camera view could be towards on the opposite corners. This could lead to an accidental suicide. It is based off of a level from Star Fox 64, and is "the home turf" of Fox McCloud in the game.
Yoshi's Island
In the Nintendo 64 game Super Smash Bros., the Yoshi's Island stage was based on the visuals from Yoshi's Story. The main body of the stage was relatively small, with three platforms and a main floor, all slanting towards the center of the stage. The stage also included three clouds which could be used for recovery, but disappeared after being stood on for an extended period of time. Some characters could be edgeguarded if they stood on the clouds at the rightmost, since in some cases the first cloud is required to be able to make it to the stage.
