Super Smash Brothers Melee introduced numerous stages to the players and outdid the minimal amount available in the original.

Temple
Hyrule: Temple is the Zelda characters' home stage. It is supposed to resemble the temples of The Adventure of Link, and even includes an orchestrated version of the original music for the temples in the game. It is by far one of the largest stages featured in the game. In addition to all of this, it is considered the impromptu home stage of Roy and Marth and even features an orchestrated version of the Fire Emblem Theme as its secondary music.
Great Bay
Great Bay is the home stage of Young Link. It features the original Great Bay from Majora's Mask, and even shows Tingle, the Turtle, and the Four Giants holding back the moon. It is a relatively small stage, as well. The music includes an orchestrated version of the main Zelda theme and the music for The Lost Woods.
Fountain of Dreams
Fountain of Dreams is one of the Kirby stages in the game Super Smash Bros. Melee. It is an extremely small stage with three platforms above the main base, two of which constantly change height. Its background music features an orchestrated version of the Green Greens music from the Kirby series.
Green Greens
Kiby's main stage is the Green Greens, a commonly featured stage in many Kirby games. It includes the Wispy woods, a large, living tree which blows wind across the area, blowing fighters around. The musical score is an orchestrated version of the Green Greens theme.
Corneria
The main home stage of the Star Fox characters. This stage places fighters on the Great Fox as it flies through the city of Corneria at high speeds. The stage features its own hazards, including Arwings appearing and shooting lasers at the fighters and the Great Fox's own twin laser cannons. The stage features an orchestrated version of the Corneria theme from Star Fox 64. This is one of two stages which allow Fox and Falco to perform special second taunts which call up the remaining Star Fox team for a conversation.
Venom
The secondary stage of Fox and Falco. Venom is the home planet of Andross, the Star Fox villain. In this stage, the fighters are once again placed on the Great Fox, but they are now fighting on the wings of the craft. This stage also features the Arwings from Corneria, but the Great Fox's cannons are no longer a threat. The music is an orchestrated version of the Star Fox theme.
Flat Zone
A new introduction to the series, the Flat Zone is Mr. Game and Watch's very own stage. It is essentially a game and watch unit and is completely Two-Dimensional. The music is a special song done specifically for the stage.
Peach's Castle
Peach's Castle is a new stage in Melee which features the top of the castle from Super Mario Land 64. The stage includes Bullet Bills which randomly appear and explode, instantly knocking fighters unconscious. It is the home stage of Princess Peach.
