Frostare appears as a frozen eye that is attached to the ceiling by a root, out of reach, in Four Swords Adventures. It is attached to the ceiling by a root, and releases miniature flying versions of itself, Frosteyes.[1] To defeat Frostare, Link must reach the room in the upper part of the screen and defeat the creature inside to detach Frostare's root from the ceiling. After this, Frostare will fly around the room throwing objects. Link must then jump from platform to platform and attack the creature's eye with his sword. When it falls to the ground, Link must use a down thrust attack to finish it off.
Trivia
- It is the only boss in Four Swords Adventures that is fought in a vertical "side-scrolling" stage, instead of those fought on a horizontal plane.
- Frostare bears a resemblance to Kholdstare (in its original frozen form) from A Link to the Past, both in name and physical appearance.
- Frostare may be a portmanteau of the words "frost" and "stare" due to its relation to ice and its only eye.
