Help:Changing featured content
From Zelda Wiki.org
This page describes the current procedure to be followed by admins when adding a new item of featured content.
1. Remove the entire voting subsection from Zelda Wiki.org:Featured Article Nomination or Zelda Wiki.org:Featured Picture Nomination and paste in its entirety into Zelda Wiki.org:Featured Article Nomination/Archive or Zelda Wiki.org:Featured Picture Nomination/Archive. The entire section is then enclosed in the Hide template (where the date shown is the date when the article or picture became Featured):

2. From within the Content section (pasted from the voting page), remove the now unnecessary header code from the first line (which, in the case of images, should match the Image Title used above).
3. Go to either Zelda Wiki.org:Featured Article schedule or Zelda Wiki.org:Featured Picture schedule and create a new section with a consecutively numbered template, adding the title of the new featured content to the right-hand column. Access the required template (e.g. Template:FA/# or Template:FP/#) and create a new summary page to appear on the Main Page (in the standard style used by the previous content).
4. Go to either Template:FA or Template:FP and change the number in the clearly defined variable which shows the total number of templates to be cycled through (increasing by one).
5. Within Zelda Wiki.org:Featured Article Nomination or Zelda Wiki.org:Featured Picture Nomination, go to the “Featured Articles” or “Featured Pictures” section. For articles, add the new featured article to the bottom of the list in the format ====Title (Month DD, YYYY)====. For pictures, add File:filename.jpg|Title (Month DD, YYYY) within the <gallery> tags.
6. Go to the newly featured article or picture and replace nominated with featured.
7. Go to the Main Page and to either the or subsection. Find FA or FP, and change to either or , where # is the number of the new template created above. This will fix this Featured content on the Main Page, and should remain this way for one week, at which point it should be changed back to to FA or FP to re-enable auto-rotation.
