The Life Tree Seedling is an item featured in Skyward Sword. It is the infant form of the legendary Tree of Life, which grows the mystical Life Tree Fruit.[1]

The seedling was planted in the Lanayru Gorge by Ancient Robots who were attempting to use the healing properties of the Life Tree Fruit on their ill dragon god.[2] The Lanayru Province proved too inhospitable for the tree to reach maturity, however, and it gradually withered.[3] Link may revert the withered tree to a seedling using a Timeshift Stone and uproot it for transplanting.[4] Though there are many locations suitable for the tree to grow, most of them would not see the tree reach maturity in Link's lifetime.[5] The seed must be planted in the Temple of Hylia in the distant past so that the tree is fully grown at the Sealed Temple. Link must then take the fruit growing from the tree to Lanayru in order to heal him.
