This Maku Tree (マカの木, lit. Maka Tree) is the guardian of Holodrum. He is also supposed to be Din's protector, but due to him being a tree, this is kind of hard. He has withered lately due to Onox tampering with the seasons. He is located in the Maku Tree Chamber in Horon Village but is blocked by a barrier that only heroes can break.

As Onox's dark magic is thwarted and the Essences of Nature are gathered by Link, this Maku Tree grows stronger and becomes bigger. When Link has found all eight essences, he can climb to the Maku tree's highest ledge to retrieve the Huge Maku Seed.

Trivia

• When the Maku Tree grows large enough, a Piece of Heart can be found within in his branches.
