The Mini Freezard is a miniature version of the larger Freezard, appearing in Twilight Princess and Spirit Tracks.

Appearances

Twilight Princess

Mini Freezards can be found in the Snowpeak Ruins dungeon in Twilight Princess. Smashing a large Freezard with the Ball and Chain will yield about five Mini Freezards, although these tiny enemies can also be found scattered around the dungeon, usually in groups of about five to seven. Mini Freezards cannot blow icy breath like large Freezards, but instead will slide across the floor towards Link, freezing him if he touches one.

Link's sword can be used to defeat Mini Freezards, but it takes about three hits, and each slash will send them flying across the floor and bouncing off walls, potentially right back into Link. The Ball and Chain is the best and most effective way to kill these enemies, though using arrows is also effective.

Spirit Tracks

A Mini Freezard from Spirit Tracks

Mini Freezards also appear in Spirit Tracks under just the name Freezard. They have what appears to be a single, red eye with a large black pupil. and function exactly the same way they do in Twilight Princess: if hit, they will slip around and ricochet off the walls of the room in an attempt to hit Link. If Link melts away their ice, an Octorok will be revealed underneath, and the "eye" was actually the Octorok's snout. Since these Freezards also appear in Twilight Princess, this gives a possible explanation for the absence of Octoroks in that game.
