Shigeru Miyamoto is the creator of The Legend of Zelda series, as well as the characters of Mario and Donkey Kong. He is considered to be one of the fathers of video games and frequently cited as the greatest game designer of all time. He is also occasionally considered as the man who shaped Nintendo as it is now known. His titles are characterized by sophisticated control-mechanics and interactive worlds in which the player is encouraged to uncover things for themselves.
At Nintendo, Miyamoto serves as general manager of the company's Entertainment Analysis & Development branch. On July 11, 2015, Miyamoto was appointed to the position of Representative Director of Nintendo alongside Genyo Takeda, in the wake of company president Satoru Iwata's sudden death of a bile duct tumor that same day. The duo headed the company until Tatsumi Kimishima's appointment as President of Nintendo in September 2015, and now they help him in his decisions.
This is only a partial list of Shigeru Miyamoto's works.
