Pirahna Plants are Venus Fly-Trap like plants that originated in the game Super Mario Bros. They usually pop out of pipes and try to eat the player. They make a brief cameo in Link's Awakening like many other characters from other Nintendo games. In the side-scrolling view in one dungeon, you have to avoid them by using Roc's Feather. In this area, there are also Goombas, mushroom like creatures that are popular in the Mario franchise.
