The Pull Lever is an item often encountered throughout Link's journeys, often opening a new path for Link or allowing him access to an item. However, many of these switches are timed, and will deactivate if Link takes too long reaching his goal.

A Link to the Past

Two pull levers, Link has activated the one on the right

Pull levers first appeared in A Link to the Past. Sometimes, Link will find two pull levers in the same room, for example when escorting Princess Zelda to the Sanctuary. Pulling the wrong one will result in monsters or bombs falling from the ceiling. Pull levers in this game are sometimes disguised as statue tongues.

Link's Awakening

Pull levers also appear in Link's Awakening. These levers are most commonly found in Eagle's Tower.

Oracle series

Pull levers return in the Oracle series. As before, sometimes there are two levers in a room, but the "Real Lever" and the "Monster Lever" will randomly switch function, making choosing the "Real Lever" a matter of luck.

Four Swords Adventures

The only new twist on pull levers of Four Swords Adventures is needing all four Links to pull at once.

Twilight Princess

Pull levers make their first 3D appearance in Twilight Princess, serving the same goal as ever. Here, they are depicted as a long chain with a handle. Similar chains are also attached to Fyrus, and are used to pull him off of his feet. Pull levers are somtimes hidden under debris piles, requiring Wolf Link to dig them up. These levers could be grappled with the Clawshot to pull them across dangerous flooring.

Phantom Houglass

Pull levers in Phantom Hourglass use every trick from the previous games, and then some. They can be pulled with the Grappling Hook and will sometimes slowly retract back into the wall as a visual indicator of how much time remains before their effects expire. Unique to Phantom Hourglass, when multiple switches are found they must be pulled in the correct order. Failure to do so would usually result in monsters falling from the ceiling.
