In The Wind Waker, Quill is the kind, young and eager-to-work Rito, who uses his superior flying abilities to be the top postman in the world. Quill looks over Link and watches him for quite a time and makes sure that he accomplishes his mission to defeat the evil Ganon. He specializes in delivering mail, as he knows the skies so well.
On Outset Island, Quill convinces Tetra and the pirates to allow Link to travel with them to the Forsaken Fortress to rescue Aryll. On Dragon Roost Island, he can be seen in the center of the Rito headquarters.
After Link received Farore's Pearl and traveled to Greatfish Isle, Quill met him there and told him of the islands demise and the whereabouts of Jabun.
He also appears when Link is at the top of the Forsaken Fortress after obtaining the Master Sword, rescuing him and Tetra from Ganondorf with the help of Prince Komali.

Quill has courage, if nothing else. He is admired by his fellow Rito and the chieftain places great trust in him.
