Making its debut in Link's Awakening, the Roc's Feather is an item that grants Link the ability to jump over single holes. In several games, such as Oracle of Ages, this item is combined with Pegasus Boots or Seeds in order to jump multiple holes at once.

The Roc's Feather is located inside Tail Cave in Link's Awakening. In Oracle of Seasons, it is found in Poison Moth's Lair; however, it is later stolen from Link by the Strange Brothers. The young hero has to follow them without them seeing him in order to see where they will hide it. In Oracle of Ages, Link can locate this useful feather in the Wing Dungeon.

The Roc's Feather is also found in Four Swords Adventures; however, if Link gives it to a Great Fairy to upgrade it to a Level 2 Roc's Feather, it will give Link the ability to jump once more while he is midair.

Roc's Cape

The Roc's Cape, similar to the Roc's Feather, is an item that allows Link to jump and glide over holes and between platforms. In Oracle of Seasons, it is a Level 2 Roc's Feather hidden in Explorer's Crypt. In The Minish Cap, it is a separate item that is hidden in the Palace of Winds, as no Roc's Feather exists within the game. The Roc's Cape also makes an appearance in Four Swords.

Trivia

  • Although brown in its debut appearance in Link's Awakening, the Roc's Feather later permanently changes to blue for the remainder of the series starting with the Oracle games.
  • The Roc's Feather is believed to be named after the Roc, a mythical bird of enormous size and strength.
  • In Link's Awakening, with enough skill, Link can actually jump over two holes instead of just one.
