The Owa Daim Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Stasis Trial,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine[]

Owa Daim Shrine is located atop a climbable precipice just off the southern edge of the Great Plateau. It is one of four Ancient Shrines that Link must complete during "The Isolated Plateau" Main Quest.[2] As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Owa Daim.[3]

Themes and Navigation[]

At the entrance of Owa Daim Shrine, Link will find a Guidance Stone with a Sheikah Slate Pedestal beneath it to his left. When he places his Sheikah Slate into the Pedestal, the Guidance Stone will authenticate it and begin to distill a Rune.[4] A drop of Ancient Energy will then fall onto the Sheikah Slate, unlocking the Stasis Rune.[5]

Immediately in front of Link is a rotating slab attached to a spinning gear. When Link uses Stasis on the gear while the slab is horizontal, he will have a short amount of time to walk across it. There is a path upwards on the second platform, but a Boulder consistently rolls down it. Link must use the Stasis Rune on the Boulder when it is at either the end or the beginning of the path, allowing him to walk upwards without behind hit.

On the third platform, Link will find an Hammer. Another Boulder blocks the path between Link and the Monk's Pedestal. If Link hits the Boulder while it is under the effects of Stasis, it will be launched forward when the Rune wears off. After this, Link will be able to approach the Monk's Pedestal.

If this is the first Ancient Shrine that Link has completed, Oman Au will explain that they are a Monk of The Goddess Hylia, dedicated to helping those who fight Calamity Ganon.[6] With Link's arrival, Oman Au's duty is now fulfilled, and the Monk gives him a Spirit Orb as a reward.[7][8] Owa Daim then wishes Link well before fading away.[9]

Behind the spot that the Boulder falls from is a stone Treasure Chest. Link can access it while the Boulder is under the effects of Stasis. Inside, he will find a Traveler's Shield.
