Entrance to the Dungeon
The entrance to the dungeon appears as a gap in a cascading waterfall in northern Symmetry Village. In the past, when chaos reigns in the village, the entrance will appear simply as a volcano. It will also appear as such in the present, until Link restores balance to the village. This is accomplished by taking the broken Tuni Nut to Patch to have it repaired, then return it to its pedestal inside the village's central building. Once that is done, the way to the dungeon will open in the present.
As many other dungeons in Oracle of Ages, the dungeon takes its name from the shape of its two floors, which together create the form of a skull. This dungeon boasts grey-tiled floors and greenish walls, and features two sets of Mine Carts. The Skull Dungeon is littered with pools of lava, which are traversed with the help of the dungeon's item, the Switch Hook. The source of the lava of certain pools can be temporarily stemmed via Pull Levers. The lava will then cool and harden, allowing Link to pass, but he must do so quickly to avoid getting caught when the flow returns. The mini-boss of the dungeon is the Armos Warrior, and the main boss is Eyesoar. After clearing the dungeon, Link will receive another Heart Container and the fourth Essence of Time, which is fittingly named the Burning Flame.
