Snowhead Temple is the second dungeon in Majora's Mask. The dungeon is protected by an invisible, giant Goron; which blows a blizzard to protect it. The Goron can only be seen by using the Lens of Truth, and can be put sleep by playing Goron Lullaby. It is impossible to reach the dungoen unless Goron Link plays Goron Lullaby. In this dungeon, Link receives Fire Arrows after defeating a Wizrobe mini-boss. If Link is able to collect all 15 Stray Fairies in the dungeon and return them to the Great Fairy, his reward is a Magic Meter upgrade. The Boss of this temple is the Masked Mechanical Monster Goht. After his defeat, Link receives a full Heart Container and Goht's Remains.
Puzzle-wise, this temple is based on the following: It's divided into four floors and one basement, but all of them have in common a big, central room; in it, there is a huge circular spot that Link can walk through initially in floor one. Higher floors require Goron Link to curl to jump the abyss present and avoid failing. As Link progresses on his way, he finds that it's possible to press a hidden switch that elevates the cylindrical rocky base supporting the circular spot, which gives Link access to a mini-boss room in floor four as the spot now will serve as a path to it. However, at the same time, elevating the spot avoids Link to enter a passage (on third floor) leading to the boss's room because of the solid obstruction by the rocky base, and not doing so simply renders said path inaccessible because of a chasm that can't be beaten by Goron Link. In this case, Link (in Goron form) must break the two pairs of the weakest segments of the spot's base, one located in floor two and the other in floor three; when this is done, so is the decrease of the spot's level, matching it with that of the third floor's passage leading to the lair of the temple's boss.
This ice-themed temple, possibly more complex and difficult than the first, also has rooms with lava, although they're no match for Goron Link's hardened body, able to resist intense heat.
Trivia
- It should be noted that the fragments of the last form of Blizzeta, the boss of the Snowpeak Ruins in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, are very similar to the exterior shape of the Snowhead Temple.
