Southern Face Shrine is a mini-dungeon in Link's Awakening.
Overview
When Link needs the Face Key to enter the sixth dungeon, Face Shrine, the Owl suggests he travel to the Southern Face Shrine first.[1] In doing so, Link comes across this shrine, guarded by an Armos Knight. Defeating it will reward Link with the Face Key, which reveals the entrance to the Face Shrine.
At the end of the shrine, Link comes to a room with a relief on the wall. The relief is written in a riddle-like tone and reveals the secret of Koholint Island and its guardian Wind Fish. It appears to be addressed to Link directly, and explains that the island is nothing but an illusion dreamed by the Wind Fish, all of which will completely vanish as soon as the Wind Fish is awoken.[2]
