Link obtaining the Stone Mask

To receive this mask, Link must use the Lens of Truth to find the invisible soldier Shiro in Ikana Canyon.[1] After relating his story of woe, he will ask that Link give him something to cure him.[2][3] To do this, Link must purchase a Red Potion and present it to him. Once Link has done this, he will hand over the Stone Mask in return.[4]

Uses

The mask causes the wearer to become "plain as a stone",[5] allowing Link to walk through most of Termina undetected. This is especially useful inside the Pirates' Fortress, where Link will be thrown out if caught. While wearing it, Link generally doesn't need to worry about being attacked. However, it does not fool bosses or minibosses, as well as several other enemies.

Enemies not Fooled by the Mask

Trivia

  • The Happy Mask Salesman can always see Link, with or without the mask (see the Mask template above).
