The Tailpasaran (テールパサラン, Teerupasaran) are parasitic tapeworms which survive within the digestive tracts of their hosts. Electricity flows through their slender bodies which makes them incredibly difficult to exterminate. They can be found in Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker.

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, the Tailpasaran lives Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly and gives off an electric charge like most of the enemies found Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly. Since it gives off electricity, hurting it with sword is not a wise choice. To destroy a Tailpasaran, Link should wait and throw the boomerang while Z-Targeting when one emerges from the ground. However, if Link is not equipped with a boomerang, he should quickly run from it before it emerges or damage it using a stick. These centipede-like creatures are known to be quite suicidal when in danger, attempting to shock the enemy to death, which results in the Tailpasarn itself being destroyed.

The Wind Waker

Tailpasaran-like enemies also appear in The Wind Waker. The Forbidden Woods has a small area where the Dexivines (fan name based on Dexihand) spawn. The official name of these enemies is not known. They are purple tentacles that come from the ground and drain magic power by grabbing hold of Link. They can be killed easily by cutting them, but they will always grow back.

There is a small area within the Forbidden Woods where they appear (see image, left). The Wind Temple also has a number of spawns in the deep canyons Link falls down into when failing to reach one of the raised platforms. These annoyances can be a problem if they hold Link in a group of enemies. However a quick slash of Link's sword will easily dispatch of these critters.
