Merge Proposal[]

Hey guys, for future reference, if you want to merge this article with Chu Jelly, the deal is that you have to say why here, on the talk page. I personally think that they should be merged, so I'll do that right now:

Chu jelly and ChuChus are very related subjects; one is the "food" or ointment directly produced from the other. I also think we should merge all seven(?) chu jelly colors together; they share even more of a similarity. And since this is a young, small wiki, I personally think that a good, solid, comprehensive article is a lot better than many decentralized articles on similar subjects. In other words, its a lot easier to use this encyclopedia with highly related subjects grouped together.

So, please state *"support" or *"oppose" below, stating your reason. If I get any signifigant number of answers (3+), this will determine the outcome. If not within two weeks or so, I will merge. SeanMD80 18:16, 25 January 2007 (CST)

Discussion:[]

I dont think so, they may be similar, but they are different. Also, chuchus appear in games but havent always given jelly.

---

I support that articles need to be merged, but I don't think it's appropriate to merge the item Chu Jelly with the creature Chu. Based on the number of articles already on the wiki, I would like to aim for one article for ChuChus, and another for Chu Jelly.

Any comments before I do this?

I support that movement. However, don't go along with it until at least one other person gives the OK. I've always found the chu series of article so confusing, because there were so many. If you can put 'em together and make sense of them, that's great. But wait for at least one person to say they want them merged, too. Then do what you will. Likewise, this means I support having one article for chus and another for their jelly - not one article for both. One is an item, and one is an enemy. --Jase 17:50, 13 March 2007 (CDT)

18 March, 20:48. OK, 5 days and no further response, if nobody object within the next week, I'll go ahead and merge as above Adam

Merge Completed[]

24th March: OK, I merged the articles so now there is just Chuchus and Chu Jelly (I hope, as long as I didn't miss any!) Still some stuff to do, as both articles need a little rewriting and cleanup Adam

Awesome - looks great! Hopefully it'll provide a good basis for more Chu information to be added in one repository now. --Jase 06:10, 24 March 2007 (CDT)

ChuChu style[]

How is ChuChu spelled/punctuated? Chu Chu? Chu-Chu? Chuchu? Chu-chu?

It varies by game. Chuchu is used by Tatl in MM, and all of the figurines in TMC are spelled this way. In TWW the second chu is capitalised; ChuChu is how it is written in-game. TP shortens it to just Chu, and it remains to be seen how it will be spelled in TPH (probably same as TWW). I'm not aware of any canonical instance where it has been hyphenated or written with a space, unless someone else can cite one? --Adam 16:59, 18 September 2007 (EDT)

Lake hylia chu[]

In twilight princess what tree at lake hylia is it with a chu under it?--Link hero of light 19:06, 1 December 2007 (EST)

I'm not 100% sure about the "tree" one, but I definitely have seen a Rare Chu around the Great Hylian Bridge and that upper area. —Darkness(Talk) 03:39, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

Blue ChuChu[]

I think the statement about the number of Blue ChuChus is misleading. Last year I preformed an exhaustive search for Blu ChuChus in The Wind Waker. I found only eighteen. Here they are:

  1. Pawprint Isle -- On the head
  2. Bird's Peak Rock -- On Grappling Hook ledge
  3. Cliff Plateau Isles -- Top by Korok
  4. Angular Isles -- Top by spiked chest
  5. Southern Fairy Island -- by tree and post box
  6. Stone Watcher Island -- behind Stone Head
  7. Thorned Fairy Island -- by east tree
  8. Eastern Fairy Island -- by tree and post box
  9. Crescent Moon Island -- by treasure chest and Blue ChuChu 10
  10. Crescent Moon Island -- by treasure chest and Blue ChuChu 9
  11. Northern Fairy Island -- by east tree
  12. Spectacle Rock -- Under bridge
  13. Star Island -- Under a big rock
  14. Mother & Child Isles -- by Goron Merchant
  15. Tingle Island -- by Tingle Tower
  16. Rock Spire Ilse -- by secret grotto
  17. Western Fairy Island -- by south tree
  18. Needle Rock Isle -- Northeastern rim

Therefore there is no validity in the Blu ChuChu statement for The Wind Waker in the article.--Matt 06:00, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

OK. If it's inaccurate, go ahead and change it ;) —Adam (talk) 07:30, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Umm... Twenty-three Blue ChuChus? I spent two weeks hunting down those eighteen. I systematically checked every single island. I avoided all Blue ChuChus until I beat the Wind Temple. Then I drew up a 7x7 grid. I checked each and every island. Crossing out each square as I scoured it for the blues. After a two-week hunt, I found eighteen. Only eighteen. I'd sure like to know where these other five ChuChus are at.Matt (Talk) 09:25, December 31, 2008 (UTC)

Heh. I really should look at this before I change things. The 5 you missed:

  1. Boating Course (F-7), start on the big island, go to the highest point and float over to the other island. It's on the rock.
  2. Horseshoe Island (A-7) , found to the right of the second hole, only at night.
  3. Diamond Steppe Island (A-6), climb to the 3rd area, and it's up there.
  4. Overlook Island (G-1) Hookshot to the second Palm tree and he's on there.
  5. Shark Island (C-6) Hit all 4 of the switches, go over to the Iron Boots Switch, change the wind to the south-east, float over to the cyclone, and use it to reach the highest point on the island. It's on the top.

I tried them all today earlier and they worked. --Josh 10:29, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Plural[]

I'm not convinced that ChuChu is both the singular and plural form (as asserted in this edit). For one, the plural form "ChuChus" appears three times in the text of TWW, once said by a Fishman, and then on two separate Nintendo Gallery figurines. Also, for whatever it's worth, Zelda.com backs this up as the correct form here. Adam [ talk ]19:38, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Right, but page titles are supposed to be singular.
Has anyone noticed how a lot of words in The Legend of Zelda series sound like the singular form could be the plural form as well?Matt (Talk) 19:45, July 3, 2008 (UTC)
Yeah I know what you mean, it's usually those with names ending in -fos. And it really bugs me when I see people try to singularise (is that a word?) them by changing the ending to -fo! But anyway, yes the page title should be ChuChu, but the plural form to be used in the article is still ChuChus, so I'm reverting the edit mentioned above. Also, can someone please fix the two dozen double redirects the move has created please? Adam [ talk ]19:58, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
No that is not a word. But for some reason, singularization is. My spell check didn't complain. And I've never seen it before.Matt (Talk) 10:10, November 15, 2008 (UTC)

Magic meter[]

Someone got the 13th TP game in existence (not sure if it was for wii or gc) and it has a magic meter that goes down when you use a fairy, great fairy's tears, or a hidden skill.

Green ChuChus?[]

Uhh, for some reason this article says that the only green ChuChus are in PH and MM, when they are obviously in TWW and TMC as well. Unless there's some subtle difference between them or something? Annoyingbirdhat 16:57, 10 August 2010 (EDT)

You're right! I've corrected this. Jeangabin 17:03, 10 August 2010 (EDT)

ChuChus in A Link to the Past[]

Aren't those green enemies in A Link to the Past that electrocute you if you attack them with a sword ChuChus? Ampere 04:32, 30 October 2010 (EDT)

Never mind; I found the article on Buzz Blobs. Added it to the See Also section. Ampere 04:41, 30 October 2010 (EDT)

Move to "Chuchu"[]

I'm personally rather fond of "ChuChu", but if its latest names have instead been "Chuchu", then I agree with Fizzle that it should be moved as per general policy. - TonyT S C 09:34, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Ditto. Though this is not mentioned in the article, it's also spelled "Chuchu" in MM. The name "ChuChu" was only used in TWW and the PH/ST Prima guides. — Hylian King [*] 12:16, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
Chuchu is also used in Nintendo Land. However, ChuChu is in Hyrule Historia, but this is the name given to the Skyward Sword one known as Chuchu in game, so it was probably just a mistake... possibly taken from this wiki itself by the translators before we changed it! Shows how important it is to get these things right and up-to-date. On the other hand, that's also how the Zelda Universe Encyclopedia still has it listed, so perhaps that is why. Fizzle (talk) 16:16, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
Huh, just realized they are called ChuChu in the NoA version of Nintendo Land, but Chuchu in the UK version. Jeez, the NoA version of Nintendo Land is translated very strangely, frankly. Fizzle (talk) 12:18, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

Dark, Spiny, Rock, and Helmet[]

While I think most Chuchus (Red, Greenn, Yellow, Blue, Purple, Rare, and even White/Snow) should remain on this page, I think it would make more sense if Dark Chuchus, Spiny Chuchus, Rock Chuchus, and Helmet Chuchus should all be moved. Most other enemeis (Octoroks, Moblins, Soldiers, Keese, Stalfos ect.) have variations that have gotten their own pages, so why not Chuchus? Gopherdude12 (talk) 00:04, 21 December 2016 (UTC)

I'd say even White deserves a page on its own. - TonyT S C 00:16, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
Chuchu page, I would say, is a different case. Because unlike Moblins and Keese, there is no default Chuchu form - all Chuchus are colored. So if you were to split all of the colors into separate pages, then the Chuchu page itself would more or less be degraded into a list or disambiguation page. - Midoro (T C) 00:51, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
Whitch is why I think basic colors like Red, Green, and Blue should stay on the page while, Dark Chuchus and Rock Chuchus should get their own page. Gopherdude12 (talk) 02:36, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
There is now a default Chuchu with Breath of the Wild. - TonyT S C 02:49, 21 December 2016 (UTC)

Moveing Dark, Spiny, and Rock Chuchu Redux[]

Now that the Fire, Ice, and Electric variants from Breath of the Wild have their own pages I think it would be sufficient for the Dark, Spiny, and Rock Chuchus to each get respective pages for their own as well. Madmoblin (talk)

Colored Chuchu pages[]

I suppose now each Chuchu would be getting their own page? If so, can someone take a look at my sandbox and see what they think? -- Wolfgerlion64 (talk) 04:27, 13 August 2017 (UTC)

I'm not sure if the colored Chuchus should get their own page, nor am I in the authority to decide, but in the Minish Cap, I do belive the Green Chuchus are the more basic variation of Chuchus in that game rather than the red ones, which you have down as that role on you red chuchu page. (Red chuchus shrink down into a puddle like the green ones in Wind Waker) I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just pointing that out. Madmoblin (talk) 04:33, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
