Scrapped dungeon ideas?[]

I've heard it said in many places around the intarwebz that Fire Mountain, Ice Ring Isle, and Greatfish Isle (or some subset of these three) were originally going to be full dungeons. Certainly there's a pattern that suggests it with Greatfish Isle, but has there been any confirmation from Nintendo about any of this? I know for a fact that there are interviews with the creators where they say that they had to abandon some planned dungeons for this game (e.g. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/i_zelda_gc), but as yet I haven't seen one where they actually say what these dungeons were going to be. Has anyone found a way to confirm what the scrapped dungeons were going to be, or failing that, does anyone know what the source of the assertion concerning Fire Mountain and Ice Ring Isle is? --Osteoderm Jacket 21:41, 19 February 2012 (EST)

OK, so I suppose one bit of evidence that these places were originally intended to have dungeons is the in-game Great Sea map. Check it out. The islands that get shown on the full world map either have towns (Outset and Windfall) or have dungeons (Dragon Roost, Forest Haven, Tower of the Gods, Forsaken Fortress, Headstone Island, Gale Isle). The only exceptions are these three islands, and there's nothing else about them that gives a clear reason why they appear on the map. I might add that to the Trivia section. However, I still can't find anything that clinches it. --Osteoderm Jacket 22:05, 19 February 2012 (EST)
