Oocca?[]

Is it possible that the Loftwings may have evolved into the Oocca? This would of course rely on the idea that Skyloft became the City in the Sky, but it would also explain the Oocca's origins. The Loftwings also display a great deal of intelligence, such as an understanding of the Hylian language and a high degree of emotional attachment to their riders, as well as a seemingly keen perceptive skills (given that they can distinguish the whistles of their individual riders, and that Link and Zelda's Loftwings knowingly left them behind once they decided to live on the Surface). The legend of the Oocca creating the Hylians would simply be a case of misinterpreted history, while Sky Writing would simply be Skyloftian Hylian script lost to the ages. The theory does have some evidence to support it and seems to have a reasonable amount of community backing, so according to policy I would say it's acceptable for this article, if that's what you're asking. (If it wasn't OK we would've said so when you added it to the Oocca article :P). — Hylian King [*] 21:29, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Recurring[]

Showing up in one game and Smash doesn't make them a recurring character. Unless it's a standard throughout the entire wiki that the moment they come up in other media, even non-Zelda focused media, that they become recurring, I don't think that Loftwings are recurring Zelda series species. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Weyferling 16:39, 15 June 2019 (UTC‎)

Indeed those lines are made to reflect the fact that they appear in other Zelda-related media, although we've been thinking in maybe rewording them to make it more clear. Also, please don't forget to sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~). - Chuck * (Talk) 17:49, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
As the appearance of Zelda content in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is an extension of The Legend of Zelda series, we regard it as part of the series. Beyond that, depictions of Skyloft are present in Breath of the Wild. TriforceTony (talk) 19:55, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
