Hmmm... what happened to Recipe? —Alter {T C B H } 02:11, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Too many, too minor
Haven't played Rupee Land, but it seems to me that all these ingredients and recipes are pretty minor on their own and might be better off being kept within one article. Jimbo Jambo 04:42, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
- Well, they're a pretty large part of the game. I'm hoping others will expand on them. Each one has many different uses. If I ever get around to categorizing them myself, it'll look a lot more worthy. —Alter {T C B H } 04:53, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

- I am going to have to agree with Jimbo here. Recipes -though they play a role in the game- are not all that noteworthy :P Though the articles could use improvement, face it; there is not much you can say about a recipe. Having these all on one page sounds great to me, perhaps we could get some other opinions on this?—Mandi (T C) 05:11, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

- I really could add a lot of other stuff to them. So far I've made no mention of their uses. You could merge all of the recipes, but when the other stuff is added it'll look sloppy being on the same page. I know they're a bit too short right now, but it'll be too long to have all 31 on the same page. Your thoughts? —Alter {T C B H } 18:20, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Major overhaul
Hmmm, might've helped reading the talk page first. XD sorry... I wasn't aware there was a conflict over whether merging all recipes or not. For the meantime... I sort of have. Well, the Power-Up Potions anyway, the others are a work in progress. Obviously I'm in favor of merging them all; if anything, I'd say grouping them and making four or five pages (as in "Soup", "Power-Up Potion", "Sleeping Gas", etc.), but then, where would we put the Fireworks or the Hand Potion? Anyway, I'm going to kill 3 birds with one stone and post an overview of how I though this article should work; it's killing 3 birds since it a)shows how I made the Power-Up Potion descriptions, b)shows how little information there actually is for each recipe to have its own article and c)it makes everyone aware of my little structure so they can copy it for the remaining recipes =)
OK, so the structure goes like this:
Heading Lv.2: Category (Soup, Stew, Sleeping Gas, Local Specialty...)
A brief description of attributes shared by all recipes in this category (for example, all soups can be sold to the Chef, all juices revive the Journalist, etc.)
Heading Lv.3: Recipe (Meat Soup, Super Stew, Sleep Spray, Fairy Vinegar...)
An image to the left and without the border (preferably with a transparent background, but that's another issue...). The name of the recipe in bold (imagine it's beginning its own article) and the number of recipe it is according to the list. Exactly how it is found (whether it is bought for a set amount of rupees or for haggle, where, from whom, after which event it is accessible, and if it's not bought, where it is found, etc.)
The recipe itself (i.e. all of its ingredients) in prose form (not list, and specially not using "X2" or the like). And then, ALL of its uses: practical uses (bomb blowing up rocks, potions healing bodyguards...), uses for the storyline (reviving the Journalist with juice...), and SPECIALLY (as it would be most easily missed) to whom it can be sold and for how many rupees.
Heading Lv.3: Another Recipe in the same category
Bla bla bla
Heading Lv.2: Another Category
Bla bla bla
So on and so forth... And obviously, the names of the individual recipes would redirect to its section in the recipe list. Oh, and while it might look like a lot of info, keep in mind it doesn't amount to more than two small paragraphs and a small picture per recipe, hardly enough for an article for each. So... anybody like my structure? And, more importantly, anybody up for helping me improve the whole article? Memo326 06:28, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, I sure type much. XD Anyway, corrected some formatting mistakes in my long message above, as well as bringing you these: the sources I used for my info (other than personal play experience)
- Easily found in Google but I figured I might as well share. =) Memo326 06:45, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
