Multiple edits[]

Hello! I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to the same page over a short time. Doing this puts a large strain on our server and clogs up the recent changes. So instead of saving a lot, use the "show preview" button next to the "save page" button. It'll allow you to view your edit for any mistakes so you don't have to make a lot of fixing edits or additional ones! :) --Dany36 00:00, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

I actually do use the "show preview" button quite a bit, but oftentimes I change my mind after saving the page. I do the same thing on Wikipedia. I'll try to make a point of reducing the amount of edits that I make, though. Thanks for the heads-up. Kurtis C. 01:09, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

Great job[]

Noticed you've been adding theme music to the Majora's Mask pages. Keep up the good work! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dekler (talk) 08:32, 29 October 2012

No problem, thanks for your sentiments. I appreciate it. =) Kurtis C. 14:53, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
I would also like to give you a hand of applause for your all of your recent work around the wiki, particularly the Majora's Mask pages. It's always a pleasure to see enthusiastic editors join the Zelda Wiki community. :) — Hylian King [*] 22:27, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
Not a problem. Thank you so much, it's great to know my work is appreciated. =) Kurtis C. 23:00, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

Bad news[]

To anyone reading this page, I regret to announce that the emulator I've been using to play Majora's Mask on my PC (thus enabling my to take screenshots) has broken down. As such, I will soon run out of images to upload. Hopefully I can resolve the problem somehow or other.

Sorry about that! Kurtis C. 15:57, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Fantastic news[]

The problem has been resolved!

More screenshots are coming your way. =) Kurtis C. 00:24, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

Dude[]

I love the work you're doing here, but I gotta ask you to please please PLEASE preview your work more often before you submit it. You can knock out all those edits in one go through previewing and catching your own mistakes. That is my only bone to pick with you, though. Keep up your fantastic work!Justin(Talk) 23:53, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

I do use preview, but then I wind up changing my mind after I hit the save button. I guess I should put more of an effort into doing that, though; it's not like Wikipedia where most people don't really even care, because the recent changes log is not monitored for any other reason than to revert vandalism. Kurtis (talk) 00:13, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Featured article voting[]

Hey, so Mandi brought up a good point here about our Featured Article and Image voting systems. I personally would like to see a change, but that just won't happen if no one says anything or voices their opinion. I'm asking you to please voice your opinion on changing the system so we can move forwards with proposing actual changes and actually GET somewhere with this. Please and thank you!Justin(Talk) 05:13, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Images[]

Hey, so we've noticed that you're adding an unnecessary amount of images to pages. You really need to prioritize things when you're adding images, because having too many can take the focus off of the page itself and draw all the attention to the gallery. It also begins to grow redundant seeing the same thing. Try to focus on getting images of important things, for example: Beneath the Graveyard would probably only need an image of Flat, the stage, an Iron Knuckle, the big Poe, and Dampe. A treasure chest is not important enough to warrant a picture (especially since the game shows a cutscene basically saying "HEY IT'S OVER HERE COME GET IT"). We do appreciate your work, you just need to tone done the quantity of images.

One more thing, try not to write articles like walkthroughs. We're an encyclopedia, so our job is to inform the reader about the subject, not tell them how to get through the game. That's what the masterminds are for. That's all, though. You're still doing a good job, so don't get scared or anything!Justin(Talk) 19:47, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

I understand where you're coming from with the images (although I doubt anyone would be overly distracted by the gallery, and in fact I sort of put it there to show off the scenery of the game), but I've never gotten the sense that my articles looked anything like walkthroughs. I was under the impression that you were actually supposed to mention where things are found. Kurtis (talk) 06:42, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
  • I should also add that I actually agree, I uploaded a few too many images for the Beneath the Graveyard article. I might request deletion for a number of them in short order, or otherwise transfer some images off to other articles where they could be used. Kurtis (talk) 17:25, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Welcome back![]

It's only been a few months, but still, it's good to see you up and about, man. — Hylian King [*] 11:39, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Thanks! It's great to be back. =) Kurtis (talk) 21:57, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
