The Yamatami Tribe (ヤマタミ Yamatami, lit. Mountain people) members live on Mount Desma in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. They are relatively primitive, however they certainly have a 'rupee tooth'. Although visitors seldom show up, their entire town is set up as a tourist attraction. But if visitors are not careful, they will gouge them. When Tingle visits them, he finds out that Uncle Rupee had seduced the tribe's chieftain. He then decides to venture in to the bowels of the mountain. In the process, he destroys the monster that lives there, and cures the chieftain. Afterwards, the Yamatami Tribe names Tingle as one of their gods, and a statue is erected in his honor.
Theory Warning: Be advised that the following article or section contains unconfirmed, fan-made theories or speculation.
It is rumored that the idea of Yamatami Tribe may have been moved to Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland from the game The Legend of Zelda: Mystical Seed of Courage. If this is the case, they may have originally been the Uura Tribe. Although there is no proof of this.
