The '''Bloober''' (''Gessô'') is a foreign water creature that can be found in only the deepest of lakes. They emit no projectiles but their excellent swimming techniques make it hard to avoid touching them. Simply strike them away with the sword when seen.

Template:Enemy

Bloobers are enemies in Link's Awakening. They are directly based on the Blooper enemies (previously known as Bloobers) from the Mario series.

Characteristics and Weaknesses

Bloobers are squid-like enemies that are encountered in an underwater passage of Catfish's Maw. Unlike Cheep-Cheeps, which slowly swim back and forth in a set path, Bloobers move in diagonal, lurching motions towards Link, making them harder to avoid. Bloobers only appear in one passageway leading to the dungeon's Nightmare Key, and always appear in pairs. Unlike their Mario counterparts, they can be dealt with easily using any weapon in Link's arsenal, with the Sword being the most immediately effective.
