Dr. Borville is the only Doctor in Hyrule Castle Town, who carries a severe prejudice against any patient that is not Hylian. Hence, he refuses to treat Prince Ralis, despite treating Ilia.[1] Despite his ethnic discrimination, he charges a large rupee copay for his services, and ironically, Borville himself owes Telma a lot of Rupees for undisclosed reasons.[2] In the same vein, he doesn't like talking to people unless they are clearly of high wealth.[3][4] Borville is inherently shifty, yet so confident about his work that he claims that his colleagues and patients call his hands the "Golden Mitts".[5]
Dr. Borville reluctantly participates in the sidequest towards the retrieval of Ilia's memory, which was lost as a function of King Bulblin's abduction of the Ordon children early on in Twilight Princess. By giving him the invoice, he will reveal the location of the Wooden Statue. Unbeknownst to Borville, Link will find the Medicine Scent in his own house, which is another crucial object used to help Ilia retrieve her lost memories.
Trivia
- The old scientist inside the Lakeside Laboratory in Ocarina of Time and the Marine Research Laboratory in Majora's Mask resembles Borville, indicating a possible connection. However, Borville seems to hate Zoras, unlike the scientist, who helped and lived near Zoras in both of the aforementioned games.
- Borville calls Link "Mr. Heavy" because he knows he has come to visit him at his home to pester him not only about the Wooden Statue, but about the long-unpaid tab he has built up at Telma's Bar.[2][6]
