Playable Characters
Bowser
Bowser is the arch-nemesis of Mario and the King of Koopas[1], and the leader and ruler of the Koopa Troop in the Mario series. Although Bowser is never featured in a Zelda game, he is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl, alongside Link, Zelda and Ganondorf. Malon, Talon, Romani, and Cremia all have broaches portraying the face of Bowser, and his portrait can also be seen in the windows of Hyrule Castle's courtyard, along with the likenesses of Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Yoshi.
Captain Falcon
Captain Falcon or as know as F-Zero pilot number 07[2] is the main protagonist of the F-Zero series, Nintendo's fast-paced futuristic racing video game franchise. Only his machine actually was shown in game, portrayed by a two-dimensional sprite - not until F-Zero X would his character be conveyed by a computer-generated image. The Super Smash Bros. games are the only times he has appeared outside the F-Zero series, aside from his helmet and car or in his anime, and the first time that he himself became a playable character. His signature move, the "Falcon Punch," has become the subject of many parodies.
Diddy Kong
Template:Dk is Donkey Kong's best pal. He's famous for his peanut popgun and rocketbarrel jetpack. Diddy is a playable in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He has a major role in The Subspace Emissary, in which he is teamed up with Fox for a large portion of the game. Diddy competed with Link's third place score in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.
Donkey Kong
Template:Dk is a gorilla and the star of the Donkey Kong video game series. He made his debut in the original Donkey Kong arcade game as the main antagonist with Mario as the protagonist. He has also appeared in many Mario games. Donkey Kong is one of the original characters in the Super Smash Bros. series and has appeared in all 3 to date. DK enjoys playing Zelda songs on his bongos, and he has played them in all 3 of his Donkey Konga games (in different regions), and even has a Zelda noise-set and roulette game for them.
Dr. Mario
Mario has assumed many roles over the years, one of them being Dr. Mario. With his supply of Megavitamins and Nurse Peach at his side, no disease is incurable for him. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Dr. Mario is very similar to his normal counterpart. His Megavitamins, replacing Mario's fireballs, are somewhat more powerful than the fireballs.
Falco
Falco's past is mysterious, and he always avoids conversation of what he did before joining the team. Falco is seen as the finest pilot of the Star Fox team, possessing a high skill level when at the controls of an Arwing. Shortly after the story of Star Fox 64, he left the team. Where he went and why is unknown, but he does reappear again at the end of Star Fox Adventures to save Fox, and subsequently returns to the Star Fox team. Falco is not a playable character in the original Super Smash Bros. game. However, he is present in the sequels, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and needs to be unlocked in both.
Fox
Fox is the leader and captain of the Star Fox Team. Fox is the main character of the Star Fox series. He and his team are all Pilots who defend the galaxy from multiple threats. Fox is also one of the characters in the original Super Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo 64 and its sequel, Super Smash Bros. Melee. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl Fox's moveset remains the same, except for a few changes in appearance such as his "Fox Illusion" move. He is shown piloting his Arwing in the cutscenes and remains a large part of the storyline.
Ganondorf
Ganondorf in the Super Smash Bros. series is an extremely slow but powerful character. His jumps are very low, making reaching high points difficult. His moveset is copied heavily from Captain Falcon, and the moves have been slowed down greatly; however, if they connect with their opponent, the effect is likely to be devastating. Appearing in Super Smash Bros. Melee as a stat-modified clone of Captain Falcon, Super Smash Bros. Brawl attempts to remove this connotation by continuing to slightly alter both Ganondorf and Captain Falcon, making them seem slightly less like each other.
Ice Climbers
The Ice Climbers Nana and Popo are two mountain climbers from the NES game Ice Climber. They are playable from the start of Super Smash Bros. Melee and return in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Ike
Ike is a mercenary and the Leader of the Greil Mercenaries[3] in the Fire Emblem series. He stars in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and the Wii game Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Ike also appears a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and fights alongside Marth and Meta Knight in The Subspace Emissary. Ike takes Roy's place as the powerful character.
Jigglypuff
Template:Bp is a Normal-type Balloon Template:Bp. It is round, pink, fluffy, cuddly, with tiny arms and feet, a tiny tuft of curly hair, and enormous blue eyes and is one of the most popular Pokémon being well known for its attack when it sings its opponent to sleep. Jigglypuff is also the first unlockable character in Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee. However, in Super Smash Bros. Brawl it is one of last the player can unlock (if unlocking through The Subspace Emissary). In Melee and its prequel, it can be unlocked by beating 1P mode once with any character on any difficult setting. Jigglypuff can be unlocked this way in Brawl, but also by playing the Subspace Emissary.
King Dedede
King Dedede is the King of Dream Land[4] and one of Kirby's rivals in the Kirby series. However, in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Dedede and Kirby become good friends during the Subspace Emissary and is revealed that he was good all along. He is the self-proclaimed king of Dream Land, and often causes trouble, though he is not necessarily evil. King Dedede appears as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He is a heavyweight character and shares Kirby's multi-jump ability.
Kirby
Kirbyor Kirby of Dream Land[5] is a small pink Kirby from the planet Popstar. Kirby inhabits Dreamland, a planet ruled by King Dedede. King Dedede hates Kirby and is constantly sending monsters to defeat him. Kirby is capable of copying the ability of anything he eats. Kirby has a very positive attitude, but is never afraid of a fight. He is a very good air ride racer. Kirby has made one cameo appearance in the Zelda series, apart from the Super Smash Bros. series. An enemy in Link's Awakening is called the Anti-Kirby, and features incredibly similar abilities. Kirby in the only non-Zelda character to make a cameo in Link's Awakening that is not a part of the Mario series, aside from Richard.
Link
Link in Super Smash Bros. is an average-stat fighter, bringing with him an arsenal of weapons and tools from his Bow to Bombs. He uses many of the moves he's learned over the years, such as the Great Spin and the Down Thrust. Link hasn't changed much throughout the series, outside of minor cosmetic changes such as from Super Smash Bros. Melee to Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where his appearance changed from the Ocarina of Time Link to the Twilight Princess Link.
Lucario
While primarily a fighting type Pokémon, most of Template:Bp's moves are augmented with his ability to use Template:Bp, in a style very similar to Template:Bp's Psychic augmented fighting style, but with different techniques similar to martial arts. It has been seen using what appears to be an Aura Sphere from Template:Bp & Template:Bp. Like Mewtwo, he has voice acting attributed to his telepathic abilities demonstrated in the movie Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, except he seems to speak more than Mewtwo did, especially when announcing his Final Smash, and his victory poses. Lucario is unique among the fighters in that his attacks become more powerful as he takes damage, capping when he is at about 200% and in last place.
Lucas
Lucas is a character with psychic powers from the Mother series, much like Ness. Specifically, he is from Mother 3, a game that was never released in the US. However, Lucas makes an appearance as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Luigi
Luigi is the younger sibling of Nintendo's Mascot, Mario. He has appeared in almost every Mario game since the original. He is actually very different then his older brother. Luigi is taller and slimmer, he can jump higher and slides farther than Mario does. This is apparent in the games in which both are playable, such as Super Mario Galaxy. When the Nintendo GameCube was released, along with it came Luigi's Mansion, the second game Luigi stars in, the first being Mario is Missing!. Luigi may be in love with Princess Daisy as Mario is in love with Princess Peach. Luigi is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. series, being a hidden character in all three in all Super Smash Bros. games. Ingo and the Gorman Brothers were designed to resemble Luigi, just as Talon was designed to resemble Mario.
Mario
Mario is one of the most recognizable video game characters ever and the mascot of Nintendo. Like Link, he was created by Shigeru Miyamoto. He has been the star in over 70 games, not including side roles. Mario's first appeared in the arcade version of Donkey Kong, however his name was then "Jumpman". Mario soon had his own game, titled Mario Bros. in which he and his younger brother Luigi were plumbers and cleared pipes of unwanted pests. In 1985, Mario's first console game, Super Mario Bros. was released, getting over 40 million sales, a world record, and ever since, Mario has gained many fans.
A portrait of Mario appears in Hyrule Castle in Ocarina of Time, among other characters such as Yoshi, Bowser, and so forth. A Mario mask can also be seen on the back of the Happy Mask Salesman's backpack in Majora's Mask. There is also a portrait of him in certain Kakariko Village houses in A Link to the Past. He is said to the the most basic and "best for beginners" character in the Super Smash Bros. series.
Marth
Marth is a character from Fire Emblem who appeared along side Roy in Super Smash Bros. Melee, then along side Ike in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He is known to be a capable swordsman, armed with a sword longer than Link's. His sword is called the Falchion. However, he has no projectile weapons at all. He is the Prince of Altea. He has been in four games: Fire Emblem 1, 3, 11, and 12 .
Meta Knight
Meta Knight is a character from the Kirby series, as a Knight from Dream Land[6] , usually appearing as a boss, although he is a playable character in Nightmare in Dreamland. He is also known for being one of Kirby's rivals. It's believed that Meta Knight is related to Kirby, since when unmasked, he's identical to Kirby aside from being blue. His sword, Galaxia, is the most powerful sword in Dream Land. It seems that only Meta Knight and Kirby can wield it. Meta Knight also appears as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Mewtwo
Template:Bp is an artificially created Pokémon and the only one of its kind. Created from a strand of DNA from the Pokémon Mew, Mewtwo was meant to be more powerful and by far the most powerful being ever to live. The experiment was a success, but in its rage Mewtwo destroyed the island laboratory, killing the researchers who created him. Mewtwo is usually the second-to-last character you will unlock in Super Smash Bros. Melee. It appears to have been replaced by Lucario in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Mr. Game & Watch
Mr. Game & Watch is a fictional character in the Game and Watch series, a line of hand held static LCD video games. He appears in Super Smash Bros. Melee and its sequel. He plays a major role in The Subspace Emissary as he (unknowingly) created the Subspace army. He is one of Nintendo's first video game creations, having premiered in April 28, 1980. Before the Game Boy or the Famicom was introduced, the Game & Watch series appeared as individual timepieces. His appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee finally yielded him his name, as prior to this he was an anonymous protagonist.
Ness
Ness is the main character in EarthBound, also known as Mother 2. He comes from the town of Onett and lives next to his neighbor Porky who later becomes an antagonist in the game. Ness is chosen by an alien named Buzz Buzz who emerges out of a meteorite that crashes on a nearby hill, to save the world from Giygas. To do that, he must first travel to eight sanctuaries and record the melodies there in his Sound Stone that was given to him by Buzz Buzz. Over the course of the game, he makes many friends, three of which become permanent members of your team (Paula, Jeff, and Poo). Ness is a silent protagonist and does not speak throughout the game although his thoughts are shown at one point. Ness has appears as an unlockable character in Super Smash Bros. and in Brawl. The name "Ness" is thought to purposely be an anagram of the acronym "SNES" used for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
Olimar
Captain Olimar is a tiny alien from the planet Hocotate, who appears in Pikmin and Pikmin 2. He appears human-like but has pointed ears and a bulbous nose. He is actually about the size of a quarter in relation to a human. Olimar is an astronaut for the interstellar transportation company Hocotate Freight. He crash lands on the planet Earth and befriends creatures known as Pikmin. The Pikmin help Olimar repair his ship before he runs out breathable air and dies due to substances in the air that are poisonous to him. Olimar is a playable character along with his Pikmin helpers. Olimar needs to have Pikmin that he can pluck out of the ground to attack. How many Pikmin and what types of Pikmin he plucks has a big effect on the match. The Pikmin will follow Olimar wherever he goes and, like in the games, will even die for him. Olimar is an anagram of the name Mario plus the letter "l", and is actually a bit similar to him.
Peach
Princess Peach, also known as Princess Toadstool, is the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. She seems to have some sort of a romantic relationship with Mario. He is constantly rescuing her from Bowser, who often kidnaps her due to the fact that he is in love with Peach, as revealed in Paper Mario. She is heavily watched by Toadsworth, who takes care of her. She has many interests, this includes sports and partying. Peach appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee as a default character. She returns in its sequel, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Her special moves include "Toad," "Peach Bomber," "Peach Parasol," and "Vegetable." In The Subspace Emissary Peach begins her story alongside Princess Zelda, who is apparently her friend, at the Stadium when disaster strikes. The player has the option to choose between her and Zelda, deciding who the characters will be able to play as and how the story progresses for each of them. A portrait of her can be found in a Hyrule Castle window during Ocarina of Time.
Pichu
Template:Bp is the pre-evolution of the popular Pokémon Pikachu. It is much weaker than Pikachu and slightly hurts itself when using electric attacks. It is an unlockable character in Super Smash Bros. Melee, but is not be playable in Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Pikachu
Template:Bp is an Electric-type Pokemon and is the mascot of the Pokémon series. Like Yoshi, Kirby and Toad, Pikachu is named after its species. In the National Template:Bp, it is Pokemon #25. It has appeared in every Pokémon game to date and is the star of the anime TV series. It resembles a yellow mouse with a jagged tail and red cheeks. It attacks both physically and with electric power it stores in its cheeks. Pikachu is one of the original characters in the Super Smash Bros. games, and it appears in both sequels.
Pit
Pit is the main character in the Kid Icarus series. Armed with a magical bow (which can be taken apart to be used as two daggers), he is the loyal servant and bodyguard to the great goddess, Palutena. Although the series only has two games, Pit was a very popular character. He was also one of the most requested characters for Super Smash Bros. Brawl along with other characters such as Sonic, Ridley, and King Dedede. He plays an important part in The Subspace Emissary, being teamed up Mario in the beginning. Pit is an angel who can glide, but only for a short period of time, so be careful. Pit used some items in his games before Link had, like the Light Arrows and Mirror Shield, and the two shared many others. Pit first teamed up with Link in an episode of Captain N: The Game Master.
Pokémon Trainer
Pokémon Trainer is the character the player control in the Pokémon series. He is also a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Although he is selectable, he is not actually playable, as the player controls one of three Pokémon (Template:Bp, Template:Bp, or Template:Bp) instead. The player can cycle through the Pokémon by using the Trainer's Down Special Move. The Trainer's Final Smash is called "Triple Finish," an attack in which all three Pokémon attack at the same time. Pokémon Trainer is the first and, currently the only, generic character. The player able to choose which Pokémon to start with at the beginning of a match by selecting one of them at the select screen.
R.O.B.
R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy) is an accessory for the NES. The R.O.B. is controlled by the NES controller. It is used for the games Gyromite and Stack-up. Moving R.O.B. with the controller will move the person in the game. It has had several cameos in video games, including the WarioWare series and the F-Zero series. In The Subspace Emissary of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, R.O.B., introduced as the Ancient Minister, is a slave of Tabuu. He is in command of the Subspace Army, assisted primarily by Primids and the R.O.B. Squad. His orders are bring the entire world into Subspace. The Ancient Minister first appears after Mario and Kirby have dueled. He sets a Subspace Bomb on the ground and flies away while two R.O.B.s activate it. Many characters attempt to stop the planting of the Bombs set by him throughout the Emissary, but all fail. R.O.B. rebels against Ganondorf (who also serves Tabuu) after realizing that what he is doing is wrong.
Roy
Roy is a character from the Fire Emblem series. He starred the 6th Fire Emblem game and made a small cameo appearance in the 7th game (first one of the series released outside Japan, titled Fire Emblem: Rekka no ken in Japan, elsewhere just Fire Emblem). His first appearance outside of Japan was as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Melee, with attacks very similar to those of Marth. He does not return as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, however. It was largely Roy and Marth's appearances in Super Smash Bros. Melee, along with their huge fanbase in Japan, that brought the Fire Emblem series to the rest of the world. On the trophy screen for Roy, the "appearances" section states that Roy may be in "Future Releases".
Samus
Samus Aran is the main protagonist of the Metroid series. Making her debut appearance in the original Metroid, Samus was thought to be a man through the entire game. Since the original, it has become custom for Samus to remove her helmet revealing that she is a woman. Although Samus wears her power suit for the majority of the games, many games of the franchise show the bounty hunter in more revealing clothing (as seen below) as a "reward" intended for the players of the game after satisfying certain conditions. In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, an unlockable bonus would place the crest of the Hyrule royal family on the top of Samus's ship, provided there is save data for Twilight Princess on the Wii. The Dark/Light aspect of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, as well as the Temples, keys, and Metroid's first NPCs were said by Retro Studios to have been inspired by A Link to the Past, which was a popular game with the team. Samus has appeared in every single Smash game to date. In every one she appears as a default character. Her special attacks consist of missiles, a charge-up laser gun and timed bombs.
Zero Suit Samus
During the events of Metroid: Zero Mission, the player must take control of Samus without her powersuit. Zero Suit Samus is playable in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The main way to become Zero Suit Samus is to use Samus's Final Smash, which fires her explosive Zero Laser and causes her armor to fall off, revealing the Zero Suit beneath. There are also two other ways to transform. At the character selection screen, if the player holds down all of the shield buttons and proceeds to the stage selection screen, Samus will be in her Zero Suit form. The last way to take this form is while in the middle of a match by using the up and down taunts repeatedly. This is the most difficult to accomplish, but by repeatedly hammering the buttons Samus's armor will fall off.
Snake
Solid Snake is the main protagonist of Hideo Kojima's stealth-based Metal Gear Solid games. He is the first ever 3rd party character to appear in a Super Smash Bros. game, having appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. He appears as he does in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. He will have his trademark cardboard box which he uses to hide in, and in the Nintendo World trailer, he uses the Nikita rocket launcher; featured in Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2. During his Final Smash, Snake will call in a chopper and he will ride the chopper firing bullets at his enemies, inspired by the Hairier boss in Metal Gear Solid 2. He has 12 bullets total, six per clip, when he uses up a clip he loads a new one. When battling a character, you can contact Colonel Campbell, Hal Emerich (Otacon), Mei Ling, or in one case, Slippy, who will start a conversation with Snake about the opponent. Former enemy Psycho Mantis makes a reference to The Wind Waker if the player has a file on their memory card of Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes.[7]
Sonic
Sonic the Hedgehog is the flagship character and mascot for the video and arcade game company, Sega, which has released a series of video games in which he either stars or plays a role. Sonic was competing head-to-head with Nintendo's mascot, Mario, for over a decade until Sega left the console market. Sonic's games are now on various other consoles, including the Nintendo GameCube, and Nintendo Wii, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, and others. Sonic has numerous abilities, including the Homing Attack (also known as the "Kaiten Jump"), in which he hits enemies with his spines while jumping, and the Light Dash, which allows him to run along a path of rings, even in the air. He is a poor swimmer, however, and will drown in water after a short amount of time. Newest abilities include "Speed Break" and "Time Break," which allow Sonic to drastically speed himself up or drastically slow down time, respectively. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, he is very quick in attacks and movement. His special moves are based on moves from his main games. His Final Smash grants him the ability to become Super Sonic.
Toon Link
Toon Link is a replacement for Young Link in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Toon Link has the design of the Link seen in The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, with many of his attacks carrying the same style (such as cel-shaded bomb explosions). Toon Link's attacks are similar to Link's, but Toon Link is lighter and generally faster, as well as less powerful.
Wario
Wario is a character in the Mario series. He is well known for wearing yellow under purple overalls similar to Mario, although currently, he is often wearing his WarioWare costume. Wario has appeared in a lot of Mario games and has also starred in his own games, the Wario Land and WarioWare series. Wario is one of the new characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In the first trailer for Brawl, it appeared that the "Wario Waft" was Wario's Final Smash. In a later update, it was revealed that the Wario Waft was just a special move. His true Final Smash is the transformation into "Wario Man" from Wario: Twisted!/Touched!.
Wolf
Wolf is the leader of Star Wolf in the Star Fox series, who was introduced as a villain, but later became a rival of Fox. He appeared as a fighter in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Like Fox and Falco, his final smash is the summoning of a Landmaster, the difference being that his is more powerful and lasts for a shorter amount of time, and of course, the color. His moveset is somewhat different than those of Fox and Falco, though. Wolf's are Smash Moves completely different, his reflector has a larger radius, his Wolf Illusion moves him at a 25° angle, his Fire Wolf isn't as powerful and there's hardly a charge time, and his laser gun fires much more slowly, but with much more damage.
Yoshi
Yoshi is a dinosaur-like species created by Nintendo, and also the name of the most famous member of the Yoshis. He first appeared in Super Mario World, and has since stared in numerous other games on many consoles, including several more Mario games, as well as a few of his own, such as Yoshi's Story for the Nintendo 64. He has also been in numerous party games such as the Mario Kart, Mario Party and Super Smash Bros. series. In the Zelda series he has made two appearances, the first as the Yoshi Doll in Link's Awakening, and the second in Ocarina of Time, in which he is one of several paintings that can be seen through a window in the Hyrule Castle courtyard. Yoshi is also the first character that teams up with Link in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary.
Young Link
Young Link was a fighter featured only in Super Smash Bros. Melee. He was based off of the design of the same young Link from Ocarina of Time, and many of his attacks were carried over from that — although, Young Link can use several weapons that the younger Link of Ocarina of Time could not, such as a Bow. Young Link is lighter and faster than his older counterpart.
Zelda
Zelda is a lightweight fighter introduced in Super Smash Bros. Melee. She uses each of the spells featured in Ocarina of Time for both offense and defense. Zelda prefers to keep enemies at a distance, using a ranged Din's Fire quite often and gaining extra distance with Farore's Wind. However, if an opponent gets close, she has several close-range physical moves that can be used.
Sheik
Sheik is the transformation of Zelda. Upon utilizing Zelda's down special, she will undergo a transformation sequence and change into Sheik (the opposite also remains true). Sheik is much quicker and less "floaty", at the cost of strength. While in Super Smash Bros. Melee Sheik was regarded as being overpowered, Super Smash Bros. Brawl fixes this problem by seriously weakening Sheik while strengthening Zelda, in an attempt to force the originally intended "switch between the characters" fighting method.
Non-Playable Characters
Master Hand
Master Hand is the ruler and creator of the Smash Universe. However, in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Tabuu usurps the Master Hand's throne and make him his slave. It has many attacks, each one quite devastating. Though not as powerful as Crazy Hand, the left hand as Master Hand is the right, the same rules apply: as its HP lower, its attacks become stronger and more frequent. Master Hand is prone to long periods of inactivity while Crazy Hand is fighting with it, and it does not attack as frequently as Crazy Hand. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Tabuu uses the Master Hand as a puppet to do his bidding. The Master Hand at one point tries to kill Tabuu, but is quickly defeated. It is unknown whether he survived. Master Hand faced players at the end of the Classic Mode. If the player was able to defeat Classic Mode's numerous challenges under harsher settings, Crazy Hand would appear. He also appeared alongside Crazy Hand in Event Match #50: Final Destination Match.
Crazy Hand
Crazy Hand is the stronger, wilder version of Master Hand. When both hands are "in play" they can execute one of three very powerful attacks. You can tell which attack they use as one hand will not attack and wait for the other to finish its current attack. It is the exact opposite of Master Hand, and will try anything short of blowing up the Final Destination to destroy you. Crazy Hand and Master Hand were both sighted in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror.
Tabuu
Tabuu is the final boss in The Subspace Emissary mode of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He he has two forms, the second one including an enormous ethereal wings. He seeks ultimate power by bringing worlds into Subspace, using the guise of Master Hand as a means to enlist the help of Ganondorf and other villains. When Ganondorf meets him, he quickly dispatches of him and turns him into a trophy. He also takes down most of the heroes led by Mario in another fell swoop, though not getting the small group of Ness, Luigi, Kirby, and King Dedede who begin freeing characters. Tabuu also faces a challenging opponent, Sonic, who arrives just in time for the final battle.
Giga Bowser
Giga Bowser is the super-sized, super powered version of the original Bowser. He has roughly double Bowser's power, size and weight. His speed is halved and his jump, strangely, remains untouched. Giga Bowser can be fought in Adventure Mode if you beat Normal mode or harder without using a continue in less than 18 minutes. He also appears alongside Mewtwo and Ganondorf in Event Match #51. Beating him in Adventure Mode rewards the player with the much-coveted Giga Bowser Trophy, while defeating him and his comrades in the last Event Match yields the boss stage Final Destination, where he and his creators, Master Hand and Crazy Hand, are battled at the end of Classic/Adventure mode. Giga Bowser returns in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as Bowser's Final Smash, and is therefore playable. It should be noted that Giga Bowser is a Smash Bros. character and not a Mario character.
Sandbag
The Sandbag first appeared as a non-playable character in Melee, but also appears as an item in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which can be thrown at other characters. Hitting it will release items. It is a relatively heavy item. In the Home-Run Contest, the Sandbag is the target for the game.
Whispy Woods
Whispy Woods is a tree from the Kirby series. He is usally featured as an enemy but in Kirby: Right Back at Ya! Whispy was featured as an ally. He lives in a forest known as Green Greens. He appears in Super Smash Bros. on the stage, Dreamland, and in Super Smash Bros. Melee, on the stage Green Greens and Dreamland 64. He reappeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the stage Green Greens once again. Whispy will provide players with apples, which can be used a projectiles.
Petey Piranha
Petey is a mutant Piranha Plant from the Mario games. He appears as the first boss in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He kidnaps Peach and Zelda and puts them in cages. Then he attacks Kirby or Mario by swinging the cages around. The player can then decide what Princess to save
Rayquaza
Template:Bp, from the Pokémon series, is the second boss in The Subspace Emissary. Rayquaza was first shown in a video on the Dojo website[1] called Fox's Misfortune. He grabs Diddy Kong who is walking along the lake shore and prepares to eat him but is stopped by Fox. Fox and Diddy then engage and defeat Rayquaza.
Porky Minch
Porky, from Mother 2 and Mother 3 (called "Pokey" in the English release of Mother 2, EarthBound) is the third boss of the The Subspace Emissary. He fights in a large machine called the Spider-mech. Lucas and Ness are the ones who must face Porky. Porky first chases Lucas while hiding in the Pig King Statue. Ness blows the statue apart, revealing Porky. Porky then proceeds to attack.
Galleom
Galleom is a Super Smash Bros.-original character and the fourth boss of The Subspace Emissary. He is first shown flying across a desert plain. Meta-Knight, Ike and Marth give chase and engage him in a fight at the edge of a cliff. After he is beaten he falls off the cliff and lands a chamber of some kind. Lucas and the Pokémon Trainer then engage him in battle. After being beaten a secound time he grabs Lucas and the Pokémon Trainer and lauches himself into the sky where he self-destructs. Just before he self-destructs Lucas hits his hand with PK Thunder causing Galleom to drop them.
