Ocarina of Time
In Ocarina of Time, he is the father to Princess Ruto. King Zora XVI is very large in size and is often too big to do anything. He sits on his throne that guards the great Lord Jabu-Jabu, the giant fish that the Zoras consider their god. The King is always willing to help people, and it reflects in his young daughter. Freeing him from ice will grant Link a Zora tunic. If Link already has a Zora tunic, he will offer him a kiss.[1] Incidentally, it appears that, according to in-game dialog, King Zora and Biggoron are good friends and have known each other for a long time.[2]
During the ending sequence of Ocarina of time, King Zora is shown to be one of the few characters not celebrating the victory over Ganon, instead sitting next to a grieving Mido. It is possible that he is grieving because Ruto must leave him or that he is comforting Mido for his similar situation. On the other hand, he may simply be too large to celebrate.
Majora's Mask
In the Majora's Mask manga, it is given the idea that Toto may be his Terminan counterpart.
Oracle of Ages
Another King Zora also appears in Oracle of Ages, where, in the present time, he has died because of the pollution in the sea. To save him, Link must travel to the past and give him a life potion. After this, he will grant Link permission to enter Jabu-Jabu if the young hero cleans the seas. King Zora also hands over the Library Key.
Twilight Princess
The King Zora in Twilight Princess is long dead. He was Queen Rutela's husband and the creator of the Zora Armor. It is implied by Aonuma that this is the same King Zora as in Ocarina of Time.[3] However, it is unexplained what happened to Princess Ruto if this is true.
