+ | '''Poe Souls''' are the remnants of [[Poe]]s after they have been slain. |
+ | ==Appearances and Uses== |
− | A Poe Soul is the soul of a [[Poe]] that you must collect in [[Twilight Princess]] in order to get good stuff from [[Jovani]]. There are 60 [[Poes]] set out in the entire map of [[Hyrule]]. The only way of obtaining it is when you are in your wolf form and you toggle your senses. Then you can fight the [[Poe]] and use your finishing move and collect its soul. Once you get 20, you get a [[Bottle]] of [[Fairy Tears]], which is one of the first places you can obtain these. After 60 souls, you get 200 rupees from him. It's sort of like collecting [[Skulltula Tokens]]. |

+ | In {{OOT}} and {{MM}}, a defeated Poe will drop its lamp onto the ground, revealing a violet Poe Soul encased within, while a Big Poe will leave behind an orange Big Poe Soul. These can be snatched up in an [[Bottle|Empty Bottle]], but they will disappear if left untouched for approximately fifteen seconds. Consuming either type of Poe Soul will randomly either restore a portion of [[Link]]'s health or deplete stamina until he only has a partial heart remaining. In ''Ocarina of Time'', trapped souls can also be sold to the [[Poe Collector]] at 10 [[Rupee]]s for a Poe Soul or 50 Rupees and 100 Points for a Big Poe Soul. Hunting down the 10 Big Poes scattered across [[Hyrule Field]] is a major sidequest, as the Poe Collector rewards Link with an Empty Bottle at 1000 Points. In ''Majora's Mask'', the Big Poe Soul can instead be either sold at the [[Curiosity Shop]] for 200 Rupees, or given to a [[Gibdo]] [[beneath the Well]] in order to proceed. |

+ | In {{TP}}, Link can collect up to 60 Poe Souls throughout [[Hyrule]] in order to remove the curse on [[Jovani]], in a sidequest similar to ''Ocarina of Time''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Skulltula Tokens]]. Poes can only be detected and defeated as [[Wolf Link]], and are treated as collectables rather than as perishable items. Collecting 20 souls for Jovani will get Link a Bottle of [[Great Fairy's Tears]], while collecting 60 souls will convince Jovani to give Link 200 Rupees whenever he asks. |

− | P-01 Castle Town |
− | The first Poe Soul that you will discover belongs to a ghost that haunts Jovaniâs house on the west side of Castle Town. Heâll give you instructions on how to collect it: use your canine senses to track it down, than attack. |
− | |||
− | P-02 Lantern Cavern 2 |
− | The cave south of Lake Hyliaâs Howling Stone is a winding wonder. Either take a bottle of Lantern Oil with you or collect Chu Jelly that acts as Lantern Oil along the way. Youâll find the first of the caveâs 3 Poes early in you journey. |
− | |||
− | P-03 Lantern Cave 2 |
− | The 2nd Poe in Lake Hyliaâs lantern cave is about halfway through your journey in the dark. As soon as you see the floating lantern, transform into a wolf, engage your senses, than take on the Poe. |
− | |||
− | P-04 Lantern Cavern 2 |
− | When you reach the final chamber of Lake Hyliaâs lantern cave, youâll see a third lantern and a glowing exit. Before you leave, transform into a wolf for a final Poe fight. |
− | |||
− | P-05 Gerudo Desert |
− | After you defeat the axe-carrying [[King Bulbin]] in the middle of the enemy camp, return to the scene of the battle (at night) to discover a Poe. |
− | |||
− | P-06 Gerudo Desert |
− | While youâre walking up the steps to the Arbiterâs Grounds entrance, go east at the mezzanine. If itâs night, youâll see a floating lantern in the distance. Follow the light to find the Poe. |
− | |||
− | P-07 [[Arbiter's Grounds]] |
− | Four Poes enter the first floorâs central chamber. Three Poes leave. Transform into your canine form, engage your senses, and face off with the ghost. |
− | |||
− | P-08 Arbiterâs Grounds |
− | The 2nd Poe that youâll have to defeat to advance through the Arbiterâs Ground is in a round room in the dungeonâs northwest section. Youâll find it after emerging from the basement. |
− | |||
− | P-09 Arbiterâs Grounds |
− | After you deal with a skeleton crew and two [[ReDead]]s in a room flooded with sinking sand, youâll dig up a chain. Pull it to move a barrier out of the way, then run past the barrier to the dungeonâs 3rd Poe. |
− | |||
− | P-10 Arbiterâs Grounds |
− | Youâll discover the last Poe east of the central chamber. It will make three copies of itself. The real Poe is a bit brighter than the others. Identify it, target it, and steal its soul. |
− | |||
− | P-11 Snowpeak Area |
− | In wolf form, climb to the top of the snow-and-ice bluff that lies southwest of the Snowpeak Ruins entrance. Youâll discover a Poe there. As you fight it, avoid falling off the bluffâs edge. |
− | |||
− | P-12 [[Snowpeak Ruins]] |
− | Thereâs a lantern in the foyer, often floating over the ice. Transform into a wolf, and attack. |
− | |||
− | P-13 Snowpeak Ruins |
− | When you get to the south-western room on the second floor with the ball and chain, use the tool to break the ice barrier on the east wall, youâll reveal a Poe in an alcove. Another bright creature flies around there. Donât mistake it for the ghost. |
− | |||
− | P-14 Snowpeak Ruins |
− | As soon as you walk into the Snowpeak Ruins, youâll see 3 suits of armor on each of the east and west entryway walls. Destroy the middle one on the west wall (hitting it twice with the ball and chain) to expose a Poe. |
− | |||
− | P-15 [[Sacred Grove]] |
− | Youâll find a Poe in the maze where you chased the Skull Kid. The ghost floats over one of the kidâs hiding places: on top of a large, hollowed stump. Youâll pass under a waterfall and climb roots to get to it. |
− | |||
− | P-16 [[Temple of Time]] |
− | When you get to the 6th floor scale room, youâll use small statues as weights to make the scales tip and give you enough height to grapple to the middle of the room. Use the spinner to get to the western ledge, directly above the scale. Youâll find the Poe there. |
− | |||
− | P-17 Temple of Time |
− | A Poe waits behind a gold gate on the east side of the 3rd floor elevator room. Use the Dominion Rod to activate a small statue on the wall above the gate then guide the statue to a floor switch on the other side. This will open the gate. (NOTE: I think you can also have the statue , the one you are escorting back to the main room, smash the gate). |
− | |||
− | P-18 Temple of Time |
− | Use the Dominion Rod to move a statue thatâs embedded in the wall of the opening chamberâs southeast corner. A Poe lantern will fly out from behind the animated art. |
− | |||
− | P-19 [[City in the Sky]] |
− | A Poe is hiding on the east wing of the 3rd floor in the City in the Sky. From the northern entrance, use the flying plants to hover over two walls, then grab onto a south-flying plant. While flying, grab onto one more plant that is near an island and drop down to face the Poe. |
− | |||
− | P-20 City in the Sky |
− | Thereâs a Poe hanging out near the room with the Big Key. Climb ivy as a human and walk ropes as a wolf to reach the east side of the 4th floorâs central room. Youâll find the Poe near a treasure chest on a precarious platform |
− | |||
− | P-21 Sacred Grove |
− | Travel east of the main temple grounds to the sit e of your first Skull kid standoff. Use a bomb to destroy a giant rock, which exposes a Poe lantern. |
− | |||
− | P-22 Sacred Grove |
− | After youâre out of the Temple of Time, return to the place where you collected the Master Sword. Thereâs a Poe floating out in the open. |
− | |||
− | P-23 [[Kakariko Village]] |
− | Enter Barnes Bomb Shop, climb the stairs, and go through to the top floor exit. Climb up to the bombed-out storage building from there. If itâs nighttime, youâll discover a Poe floating over the wreckage. |
− | |||
− | P-24 Kakariko Village |
− | Zigzag up the hill from the bombed-out building at night. A Poe will be waiting for you on the porch of the building on the top of the hill. |
− | |||
− | P-25 Kakariko Village |
− | Itâs a well-known fact that ghosts hang out in graveyards. Go to the Kakariko graveyard at night to see for yourself. |
− | |||
− | P-26 [[Death Mountain]] |
− | While youâre walking the trail from Kakariko Village to the Goron camp, get a boost form a Goron and grab a ledge to the east. If itâs night, youâll see a Poe lantern to the south. |
− | |||
− | P-27 Snowpeak Area |
− | Since all of the enemies in the Snowpeak area glisten white, itâs difficult to distinguish them from Poe lanterns that float on the slope between the ice floes and the cave at the top. One of the Poes tends to hover near a tree in the southern-central part of the area. |
− | |||
− | P-28 Snowpeak Area |
− | Just down the slope from P-27, another one of the ghostly creatures haunts the area around a very large rock. Clear away the other enemies in the area before you take it on. |
− | |||
− | P-29 Snowpeak Cave |
− | In the cave at the top of the mountain, youâll discover a Poe on the other side of an icy wall. Set it free by hitting the ice with your ball and chain, than attack. |
− | |||
− | P-30 [[Zora's Waterfall]] |
− | After you ride down the waterfall, climb up an incline to the west side. If itâs dark outside, a Poe lantern will be illuminating the ledge. |
− | |||

[[File:File:Poessoul.png.png|20x20px]] [[|]] Poe Souls are the remnants of Poes after they have been slain.
Appearances and Uses
Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask
In Template:OOT and Majora's Mask, a defeated Poe will drop its lamp onto the ground, revealing a violet Poe Soul encased within, while a Big Poe will leave behind an orange Big Poe Soul. These can be snatched up in an Empty Bottle, but they will disappear if left untouched for approximately fifteen seconds. Consuming either type of Poe Soul will randomly either restore a portion of Link's health or deplete stamina until he only has a partial heart remaining. In Ocarina of Time, trapped souls can also be sold to the Poe Collector at 10 Rupees for a Poe Soul or 50 Rupees and 100 Points for a Big Poe Soul. Hunting down the 10 Big Poes scattered across Hyrule Field is a major sidequest, as the Poe Collector rewards Link with an Empty Bottle at 1000 Points. In Majora's Mask, the Big Poe Soul can instead be either sold at the Curiosity Shop for 200 Rupees, or given to a Gibdo beneath the Well in order to proceed.
Twilight Princess
In Twilight Princess, Link can collect up to 60 Poe Souls throughout Hyrule in order to remove the curse on Jovani, in a sidequest similar to Ocarina of Time's Skulltula Tokens. Poes can only be detected and defeated as Wolf Link, and are treated as collectables rather than as perishable items. Collecting 20 souls for Jovani will get Link a Bottle of Great Fairy's Tears, while collecting 60 souls will convince Jovani to give Link 200 Rupees whenever he asks.
