As their habitat suggests, Subrosians enjoy symbolically "hot" activities, such as dancing, as evident from their Dance Hall, and partaking in lava baths. Their volcanic climate and their general isolation from mainstream society contributes to their use of Ore Chunk as currency as compared to the Hyrulean Rupee, as it is more abundant in the area and vital to their continuity as a culture, as Rupees are to Hyrule.

When the word,Subrosia, is taken apart, it becomes "Sub rosa", or "underneath the rose" in Latin. In ancient times, a rose over a doorway signified that a secret meeting was taking place. The name Subrosia literally means "secret place" and Subrosian "secretive person".

Subrosians (ウーラ Ūra) are the native inhabitants of the lava world of Subrosia in both Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages , of whom very little is known. Subrosians dislike normal light conditions, and therefore always wear full-body robes, keeping their physical identities private to all but themselves. It is rumored that they originated from the land of Holodrum.

Trivia

When the word,Subrosia, is taken apart, it becomes "Sub rosa", or "underneath the rose" in Latin. In ancient times, a rose over a doorway signified that a secret meeting was taking place. The name Subrosia literally means "secret place" and Subrosian "secretive person".

Theory Warning

 • Some have speculated the Subrosians may be somehow connected to the Garo Ninja due to their similar physical appearance.
 • It is likely that the Subrosians were originally supposed to be the Uura Tribe from The Legend of Zelda: Mystical Seed of Courage, and were moved to the Oracle of Seasons game after Mystical Seed of Courage was canceled.
 • It is also very possible that they are related to the Salona from Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. They both wear hooded cloaks, and can't be touched by the light. [1]
