The Woods of Winter is an area in south eastern Holodrum in Oracle of Seasons. To the north of the woods is the Sunken City. To the west is Horon Village and the Eyeglass Lake. To the south is the Samasa Desert.
In the woods, Link will encounter Rosa and the way to a portal to Subrosia for the first time. The second level, Snake's Remains, is located in the woods. Also in the woods is the Mystery Seed tree and a Fairy who will heal Link's wounds.
The default season for most of the Woods of Winter is, ironically, autumn. The woods are quite difficult to navigate. Many bodies of water and trees block off paths. Link needs to acquire the Rod of Seasons with the Power of Winter to change the season to winter. This makes passage much easier, but blocks off the path to the level. To get there, Link must acquire a shovel.
The name of the woods is likely based on the ease of navigating it during winter.
