Template:Place The Lake of Ill Omen is located in the Dark World of A Link to the Past, exactly where the Zora's Lake is in the Light World, northeast of the Potion Shop.
There is a ring of stones where a Giant Catfish resides. Near the ring, there is a sign that says: "Curses to anyone who throws something into my circle of stones." If Link ignores the sign and throws something into the ring of stones, the Catfish appears and says, "Was it you who disturbed my peaceful nap? I will give this to you if you go away!" The Zora then gives Link the Quake Medallion. Throwing another item into the ring of stones, causes the Zora to spit a fireball or bomb out.
Trivia
- The Giant Catfish who dwells in Lake of Ill Omen is often described to as a River Zora, although there are no River Zora in the Dark World. River Zoras are replaced by Cyclops Fish enemies in the Dark World.
- The entrance of the Catfish's Maw in Link's Awakening resembles the Giant Catfish.
